Deer Trail Fire Update
Fire crews report no fire growth and very little smoke today. USFS crews will continue to monitor the fire. We ask that people do not attempt to reach the fire area and do not call 911 to report smoke from this fire.

The Deer Trail Fire was ignited on the Uncompahgre National Forest on Saturday afternoon. It is located north of Deer Trail Basin and estimated at a tenth of an acre in size. The fire is showing minimal to moderate activity with no structures or public threatened. It is burning on a rocky cliff face where accessibility is extremely hazardous.
USFS fire resources will be monitoring the fire. There may be smoke visible in the area today. Please do not call 911 to report smoke from this fire as we are aware of the situation. We also ask that you do NOT attempt to access the fire yourself in an attempt to extinguish it!
