NEW GET SET (YELLOW) VOLUNTARY EVACUATION ZONE ADDED
The Hinsdale County Sheriff’s Office has instituted a new GET SET (YELLOW) Voluntary Evacuation Notice in Hinsdale County Evacuation Zone E003. This zone is on the west side of Highway 149 and includes properties from The Country Store north to Independence Gulch. Evacuation Zone E003 includes the north side of Pete’s Lake, Ocean Wave Dr and the Riverside, San Juan Springs and San Juan Hills neighborhoods.
Evacuation zone E006, northeast of the Town of Lake City and east of Hwy 149, from the Valley View property to the County line is still in GET SET (YELLOW).
Those in the GET SET (YELLOW) voluntary evacuation zones should be prepared to evacuate and leave early if they need extra time.
The evacuation zones north and west of the Town of Lake City, from Independence Gulch Trailhead to the county line, remain in “GO EVACUATE NOW (RED)” MANDATORY evacuation status. These are zones E002 and E005.
Those with homes in the RED MANDATORY EVACUATION ZONE may not return to their homes until the evacuation order is lifted.
EVACUATION CENTER HAS BEEN OPENED AT THE LAKE CITY ARMORY, 230 N. Bluff Street, Lake City.
GO EVACUATE NOW (RED) means
– THERE IS AN IMMEDIATE DANGER
– Gather family, essentials and pets and LEAVE IMMEDIATELY
– If you need help, call 9-1-1
– ACT EARLY!
All other zones in Hinsdale County remain in the GET READY or GREEN status.
