Around 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 13, the Twin Sister fire was reported approximately 1 mile northwest of Ouray, in the Twin Peaks area, on the Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre and Gunnison (GMUG) National Forests, Ouray County.

The single tree fire is approximately 1/10 of an acre and is creeping and smoldering on steep terrain. One engine has been assigned to the incident and fire personnel will continue to monitor the area. No additional resources have been ordered. Currently, no structures are threatened. Firefighter and public safety are the priorities on this incident.
